Served two years as creative director for Westdeutscher Rundfunk Köln (WDR, West German Broadcasting Cologne), a German public-broadcasting institution based in the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia with its main office in Cologne. WDR is the largest broadcasting company in continental Europe.
I initiated and led their on-air redesign in close collaboration with British design legend Peter Saville. The video shows a short compilation of a few of the results.

Report and research project Summer 2004
An inspiring project with six exceptional technical producers and designers from WDR Broadcasting. We had the chance to see virtual set technology in Warsaw, Bratislawa, London, Bergen, Madrid, and many other beautiful places in Europe.
After weeks of research we wrote the report Virtual set design and virtual TV studio technologies – several hundred pages long.

The Berlin design studio Scrollan asked for illustrations of feet for their publication d magazin. No 2 issue was entirely on the part of our body we stand on.

For SSC Consult study November 11th, 2003
Inspired by my illustrations for the high profile economy print magazine brand eins the management consultant company SSC Consult hired me to contribute collages for their study Wer hält die Bank? [Who has the bank?].
Keith Rowe, Thomas Lehn and Marcus Schmickler are three of the most prominent names in the European experimental world, each with their own distinct history and discography. All three are members of the all-star electronic orchestra M.I.M.E.O., and in late 2001, they began performing occasionally as a trio, eventually resulting in Rabbit Run.
Via a-musik: "Rowe, Lehn and Schmickler gathered together in June of 2002, in Schmickler's Piethopraxis studio in Cologne, for two days of recordings. The results were Rabbit Run, which is two records in one: a single 41 minute piece designed to be played linearly, and the same piece subdivided into 42 shorter tracks, designed to be played on random shuffle, creating a unique record with each play. The cover painting is by Rowe, in his instantly identifiable pop-art style, subsumed by Cologne designer Heike Sperling into a startlingly original design."
Cologne-based designer Manu Burghart supported me retouching my analog collages at her computer.

For brand eins magazine 2003
Contributed analog collages to almost every print issue of the high profile economy magazine brand eins in 2003.

The Frankfurt branch of Ogilvy & Mather hired me to design and produce a corporate film for IBM's marketing department. We sampled from dozens of movies and music videos, and tried to compose the final video in a way that none of it would be noticeable.
On-air design for the launch of a new national music TV channel 2001-2002
Was hired as creative director for concept and production of the on-air, sound, and set design for the launch of the new national music TV station VIVA Plus in collaboration with Double Standards, Berlin. Chris Rehberger and I worked for three months non-stop at Tsunami post production. Their attic offices in Bismarckstraße were in the former studio of noted German artist Gerhard Richter.
The opening credits for the Berlin shows were designed by British design legend Peter Saville, to whom I got introduced through Chris Rehberger.
Music by Marcus Schmickler, FX Randomiz, Thomas Brinkmann, Florian Hecker, Justus Köhncke among others.

Am proud to have been hired to design the cover for the seminal recording PARAM which was composed and produced by Marcus Schmickler. Also designed the deleuxe limited edition gatefold vinyl cover. Marcus first collection of recordings for chamber ensembles with electronics.

These recordings document Schmickler's interest in a confrontation with modern classical composers, they are a return of 'the living dead.' Schmickler has been known also for his different approaches with Pluramon, M.I.M.E.O., his collaborations with Thomas Brinkmann or the improviser Thomas Lehn."
